R2
Rivian’s R2 is shaping up to be one of the most important electric SUVs on the market. It brings Rivian’s adventure-focused design, clean interior, strong range, and everyday practicality into a smaller, more affordable package than the R1S.
The R2 is a midsize, five-seat electric SUV with a length of about 185.9 inches, up to 90.1 cubic feet of storage, and 9.6 inches of ground clearance, giving it a practical mix of city usability and outdoor capability. Rivian says R2 reservations are available, with deliveries beginning in spring 2026.
Rivian has also announced the R2 lineup, starting with a Performance Launch Package at $57,990, followed by lower-priced trims later. The broader lineup is expected to include versions starting around $53,990, $48,490, and eventually a $45,000 model.
It is worth noting that Rivian’s legal terms currently describe referral eligibility around new R1 purchases or leases, while Rivian’s general Rewards support language says referral codes can be used when ordering a new Rivian vehicle. Because the program can change, buyers should confirm the exact R2 referral benefit during checkout before assuming a cash discount.
